A large construction supplier contacted Twisted Nail to provide hauling services for the Gibbons Creek Substation project in Iola, TX, located just south of Bryan. The project required consistent delivery of multiple materials including state spec base and general fill sourced from Helmcamp and Noe Requena Materials. Pug base was also quoted and is expected to be used later in the project. Leveraging our end dump fleet and coordination with material suppliers, Twisted Nail was able to adapt to a fluctuating schedule and ramp up production as site needs increased.
The Gibbons Creek Substation project presented a dynamic pace and schedule. Deliveries began sporadically in late 2024, paused for several months, and then resumed in August 2025 with a steady increase in demand. Hauling began at roughly 500 tons per day before ramping to 1,000 tons per day as the project expanded. Material testing was a consistent requirement, with a quality control team on-site to conduct and verify multiple retests.
Twisted Nail’s logistics team coordinated with multiple suppliers to keep material moving efficiently despite changes in daily tonnage and schedule demands. Maintaining compliance with the state specifications for base and fill materials was critical, and our team worked closely with site personnel to ensure all loads met inspection standards.
